Electricity is what makes electronics work. It is a form of energy that can be harnessed to create very useful machines and systems. The theory behind electricity, like learning any theory, can be a bit boring, so if you need to skip ahead to doing stuff, it’s okay. However, it is good to know how something works so that we can make better use of it when we apply the theory into a real application.
Electricity will usually be presented in the study of Physics, however it is used in a variety of fields in science and engineering.
Sparkfun has a great tutorial on the basic principles of electricity and a great tutorial on electric power if you want to know more about them.
Corrections, suggestions, and new documentation are very welcomed. They can be contributed to the energia website repository on Github.
The text of the Energia getting started and reference guides are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 License. The Energia reference is based on the Wiring/Arduino reference. Code samples in the guide are released into the public domain.
Energia sketches are C/C++ based and compiled with the open-source compiler MSPGCC or arm-gcc-none-eabi. The Energia language comes from Wiring. The Energia environment is based on Processing and includes modifications made by Wiring and Arduino.
